Life Skills….

The concepts of Life Skills are not being integrated in most school education curriculums, and because of this it is crippling the success rate of our youth. Many are entering into post-secondary life with limited knowledge on how to navigate through the expectations of the real world. It takes more than just book knowledge to be effective. Life skills are learned skills that enables individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. If young people are not taught how to use and nurture these skills, society cannot expect them to be prepared for college, a career, and most importantly life. We cannot just sit back and hope that our young ones will catch-on as time go by. We have to expose and educate our youth to life skill concepts, so that they know how to think, plan, and act independently.

Sheek Brands LLC creates products and experiences that educates young African Americans on relevant life skill concepts. These concepts will provide social and self-mangement skills that will prepare them for different life experiences. We do this through our hands-on curriculum, our mini workshops, our yearly symposiums, and our on-line program (currenlty in progress).

The four main categories of our curriculum are: Financial Literacy, Emotional Awareness, Personal Development, Personal Appearance. 13 sub-categories are taught from these four main categories. Our interactive curriculum, and events are designed to bridge the gap between basic knowledge and being capable. It focuses on the development of major competencies that are important for our youths immediate and future success.

Our programs are for youth ages of 6-17, and are taught in sequential steps related to the age and stage of development.
